This week (from July 8- 14, 2018) is National Diabetes Week and we at Synergy radiology are encouraging everyone to check in with their health.

Too many Australians are being diagnosed with diabetes too late. The is true for both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. The delay in diagnosis is putting many people at risk of major life threatening health problems.

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a serious complex condition which can affect the entire body. Winter in Australia is unique- While the sun shines on beaches in the north, it’s snow time down south and with school holidays around the corner many Sydney-sider’s are packing up their cars and travelling south to the ski fields for activities and adventures while snow is in abundance.

It’s the perfect time to slide down the slopes with the entire family, take a walk through the pristine wilderness, and revel in the festivities that only a snowy winter brings and because of this it is understandable that children all over the country are going to be increasing their activity over the next few weeks. As as result, keeping your children injury free may require extra parental supervision.

However, with obesity rates in children on the rise, the World Health Organisation (WHO) have also stressed how important it is to encourage our children to get outside and be active. So enjoy the holidays, but remember to stay safe.

At Synergy radiology we are focused on making sure we give our patient’s the best care possible. Sometimes coming in for a medical imaging scan might be stressful and we will do our best to give you a positive experience. Please let our staff know if you may be claustrophobic, nervous or just a little bit unsure about how you will go during your scan and we will take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

We are always looking to improve our customer service, so if you have any feedback for our staff regarding your experience with us please let us know by filling out this feedback form

We hope that your experience with us is a good one- as we are focusing on you.

Australia’s preparation for the must-win World Cup game against Denmark on Thursday night has been thrown a curve ball with injuries to two of our most important players, Tomi Juric and Josh Risdon. But it has now been reported that both will be available, despite missing some training sessions!

After Australia went down in a close 2-1 defeat to France on Saturday night, to retain hopes of qualifying for the second round of the World Cup we will have to beat a Danish team that has not been beaten for 16 games and has not conceded a goal for five. Tune in to SBS to cheer on the Socceroo’s at 10pm (AEST) on Thursday night.
